Star Wars The Force Awakens Surpasses Avatar As The Top Film In The US
It has been announced that with 760.5 million (and growing) at the U.S. box office, Star Wars: The Force Awakens has passed the movie Avatar as the top grossing film of all time domestically.
It passed Avatar in only 20 days, and has accrued even bigger numbers in other areas. The movie also holds the record for biggest opening day at the domestic box office at $119.1 million, the biggest opening weekend at the domestic box office $247.96 million, and also the biggest IMAX opening at the domestic box office $30.1 million. Not to even mention its global numbers of about 1.5 billion.
